Hello! My name is Tania Sallinen and I’m a 47 year old wife and mother of 2 teenage kids. In June 2023 at the young age of 46, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer.  This was followed by numerous tests and a biopsy. In July I met my Oncologist Dr. Chan.  She is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and thorough.  She explained everything in a way we could understand and made it clear she was going to fight for me, any and all questions we had she answered with compassion. She had a treatment plan ready for me, which was aggressive and what we’d hoped for. Two days later I had my first round of Chemotherapy followed by three more. After my 4th round we paused for surgery. In November I had full abdominal laparoscopic surgery (full hysterectomy, tumor removal and debulking). Im now finished my 6 rounds of chemotherapy and onto a new treatment plan of oral chemo pills. I’m  happy to say January  11, 2024 I was told I’m now in remission.  I hope my story helps others who are navigating the challenges of a scary cancer diagnosis.
